On the day of the UK Recovery Walk, I had the joy of running a drop-in tote bag workshop at the Recovery Village—a creative space nestled within a day of celebration, solidarity, and strength.

As part of Wolverhampton’s Recovery Month celebrations, I was invited to run a tote bag workshop at the Art Gallery’s Friday Lates event—a vibrant evening of art, storytelling, and shared strength, hosted by The Good Shepherd and SUIT.

Thanks to Arts Council England funding secured by Kate at The Good Shepherd, I had the quiet honour of leading a series of summer workshops with young people aged 14+ from Wolverhampton 360. Held at Wolverhampton Arts Centre, these sessions were part of a wider programme preparing for Recovery Month and the UK Recovery Walk.

As part of the Care, Create, Conserve project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, I had the privilege of working with Corey, John, Matt, and Sally—members of Wolverhampton’s Service User Involvement Team (SUIT)—to explore healthcare heritage through a creative lens.
